Outreach/Partnerships Lead
8by8 is looking for a volunteer Outreach/Partnerships lead to head up our existing outreach team in finding and maintaining restaurant and business partnerships to support our 8by8 web app. We are a volunteer-run nonprofit working to #StopAsianHate at the ballot box, by increasing historically low voter registration and political participation in our Asian communities. Our "8by8 challenge" app will use social engagement and viral marketing to spread the message of voter registration; challengers will invite 8 of their friends to register to vote in 8 days, providing a fun and engaging way to register new voters. A large component of this app is restaurant rewards; "challengers" will earn free food at local AAPI-owned restaurants when 8 of their invitees complete the challenge
The Outreach/Partnerships Lead will be responsible for leading a team of outreach volunteers and coordinating with Marketing and other team leads to secure restaurant partnerships, sponsorships, and endorsements for the app. The role will focus on big-picture strategy and task delegation, with the execution being carried out by our volunteer team.
You will:
Organize our existing outreach team to identify and approach restaurants that may be interested in working with us on the app
Seek out sponsor relationships to fund development costs for the app
Build relationships with other 501c3 organizations to promote and drive traffic to the app
Maintain existing relationships with restaurants, sponsors, and partner organizations
Secure high-profile endorsements and other forms of support for the app
Expand outreach efforts nationally to build a scalable and sustainable partnership model
You are:
Able to delegate tasks effectively and mobilize a focused volunteer team
Willing to work in a cross-functional team and mentor other, more junior members
Skilled in building, managing, and nurturing relationships to drive long-term engagement and support
Enthusiastic about the work and excited to take on a leadership role
