Social Media Lead

8by8 is looking for a volunteer Social Media Lead to be responsible for building and executing 8x8’s global social media strategy across platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. We are a volunteer-run nonprofit working to #StopAsianHate at the ballot box, by increasing historically low voter registration and political participation in our Asian communities. Our "8by8 challenge" app will use social engagement and viral marketing to spread the message of voter registration; challengers will invite 8 of their friends to register to vote in 8 days, providing a fun and engaging way to register new voters.


The role will focus on developing and executing 8x8’s social media strategy to ensure a consistent, engaging brand presence and foster community growth across all platforms. You’ll work closely with marketing, communications, and design teams to craft compelling content, amplify product launches, and strengthen community engagement.


You will:


  • Develop and manage a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with 8x8’s brand and business goals. 

  • Create and curate engaging content (text, image, video) tailored for each platform and audience. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, PR, design, and demand gen teams to support campaigns. 

  • Monitor conversations, respond to audience comments, and actively manage community engagement. 

  • Track key performance metrics and create monthly reports to optimize performance and inform strategy. 

  • Stay up to date with social trends, platform updates, and competitive activity. 


You are:


  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with a keen eye for visual content. 

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and pivot strategy accordingly. 

  • Experience with social media tools and performance reporting platforms.
